There are plenty of websites where you can publish your music for free, and they’re probably quite useful for promoting acts like the arctic monkeys.

These websites run on advertising, so unfortunately they need to take people’s attention away from the music. To stay in business, they need your listeners to click on ads and leave your tunes behind.

Ad-supported websites can’t afford to respect artists.

My music + their ads just doesn’t sound right to us. As musicians we can pay our own way, without handouts from media networks. Do we really need animated flash banners sponsoring our tunes?

We use your money to pay for bandwidth and software development. Last week we spent a little bit of it on lunch. In return, you get your own music website, and because it’s yours, we don’t need to add advertising or branding.
